Mr. T Goes to Preschool!

Here is Dylan showing his turkey to all of his friends at preschool. Mr. T was well behaved, gobbled and strutted for all the classes. I'm pretty sure he was grateful he took a trip to school this November rather than where most turkeys are headed this time of year! Maybe that's why he was on his best behavior! Everyone got to pet him and ask lots of questions. Then it was back home to hang out with the geese (who chew all over his tail, that's why it looks so bad).

Mr. T Goes to Elementary School!

Mr T. made a visit to Freedom Elementary school to visit some of my old teacher friends and their classes. He strutted and gobbled for almost 200 students. Here he is with the principal Mr. Reyes and one of the kindergarten teachers.

Mr.T got so big, that he was unable to walk. In Feb. 2005 he was given to a family that has helped me greatly with my goats. They took him to the processor, and he ended up breaking their record for biggest turkey ever brought in! Dressed, he weighed 57 lbs.! No wonder he couldn't walk anymore! Poor guy! The next day I got my first goose egg from my Giant Dewlap Toulouse that he had been living with. Coincidence? I don't think so! He'd  been eating a giant omelet every morning!
