This is our second year with this great dual purpose breed. They are amazing layers of a gorgeous large egg. They are also great as a meat bird if you end up with extras, or too many roos. They are large, gentle, non fliers. Can't ask for much more than that! They were used to create the hybrid egg layers that egg producers use, so you can get an idea of their laying abilities. They are very much in need of conservation. We just can't understand why such a well mannered versatile bird is so rare. We are hoping to help change that by raising them and helping distribute hatching eggs to people across the country which is the best way to help save the breed.
