BIRDS
Show and Breeder Quality Birds
If you are looking for something in particular let us know. We will be taking birds to the shows we attend to sell. After that we will consider shipping. Eggs ship year round weather and birds permitting.
We consider a bird that meets the standard but just doesn't have the show "pizzaz" or at least not yet a "breeder" quality bird. It is always very possible especially depending upon age that one of these birds will mature into something special. A "show" quality bird, is a bird that we would take and show ourselves. Meets all criteria in the standard, plus has that extra special "something" that makes them show material. If you have any question about the quality of a particular bird, please ask and we can discuss it with you in detail.
Silkie Chickens

EGGS
Top Quality Silkie Chicken Eggs
All of our breeder birds originated from two of the top bloodlines in the United States, HatTrick and Stanford (Brown Egg Blue Egg). We mark each egg, so you will know the pen it came from. Our Blues, Blacks and Splashes all have the True Andalusian gene. They all have big gorgeous crests, excellent type, five well spaced toes, and heavily feathered feet. We can't guarantee you will hatch a show bird, but your chances are very good with these bloodlines. They make wonderful pets and have a very sweet disposition.

You could get black, blue, splash or an occasional white. We have been getting a beautiful lavender blue baby so far that will end up being blue or splash. Can't wait until they feather out to see! Delaware Eggs
These birds need our help! They are a wonderful gentle breed that lays a beautiful rich brown colored egg. They are amazing layers and were actually used to create the super layers some of the egg producers use today. Their numbers are very low, so we are hoping to get more people interested inn them. We are going to get pictures up soon on their page.

Indian Runner Duck Eggs
We raise trout runners. Our breeders came directly from Holderread's and are very nice. These eggs ship extremely well, and are fairly easy to hatch if you have a reliable incubator. Please be sure to check out our Shipping Hatching Eggs page for information about this process and it's risks. We sometimes have a short waiting list for these, so please contact us if you are interested.

***HATCHING EGG DEPOSIT POLICY***
We require payment in full (including shipping) to be placed in line, or reserve a date for hatching eggs. It is our hope that this will separate the serious buyers from the rest, and alleviate any problems with trying to collect payment last minute while we have time sensitive eggs waiting to be shipped. We are glad to give regular updates as to what position you are in on the list and our best estimate as to when we should be able to ship to you. Please realize that birds are not machines, and they are affected by mood, weather and hormones which we have no control over, so our estimate may be off if someone decides to stop laying. We also try to be careful about shipping in extreme weather either hot or cold, so that may affect your package as well. We will gladly refund your money in full if we cannot for some reason ship within 6 weeks of payment. Please know that if we have not received payment from you, then you are not "officially" on our prebook list. When some breeds book up, we might take names for a waiting list to be contacted in the event we have more eggs available. Our PayPal address is: featheracrescait@yahoo.com. Thank you for your understanding. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about this policy.
***SHIPPING POLICY FOR LIVE BIRDS***
Shipping birds is a HUGE hassle, but we do occasionally ship through the USPS, provided there is an available flight. You will need to give us your zip code so that we can check. The PO is making it harder and harder to ship birds easily. If you have an incubator, out first recommendation is to try hatching eggs! Or, if you've ever wanted to visit Sunny California....come on over! Pickups can be arranged and are preferred. I can also deliver to any of the CA shows I attend..
Shipping live birds safely is VERY time consuming for us. We condition them several days prior to shipment with extra vitamins and electrolytes, and teach them to eat apples, canned corn, lettuce or other suitable snacks that can be included in the box with them. The day of shipment, they are loaded up, their snacks are prepared, and we have to have them to the main downtown PO before 9am. This is about an hour round trip for us. So, as you can see, a lot of time goes into shipping one bird. Therefore, we have some requirements that must be met before it is worth our time to ship.
We have a $40 minimum for shipping. This means if you are buying a $20 duck, the price will be $40, or you can buy 2 $20 ducks, it's up to you.
Also, we usually won't go to the PO until we have at least two orders to ship. We hopefully will have others waiting to go out, and yours can be combined with them.
Thank you for your understanding!
